Family-Friendly Activities to Enjoy

1. Children Biennale 2025 @ National Gallery Singapore

Running from 31 May 2025 to 29 March 2026, the fifth edition of Gallery Children’s Biennale invites families to explore eight interactive, multi‑sensory installations inspired by the core values of Joy, Kindness, Love, and Dream. The Children Biennale is a celebration of art through the eyes of children and those who are young at heart.

Marking both the Gallery’s 10th anniversary and Singapore’s SG60 milestone, this edition is the first Biennale to be fully baby‑friendly, with installations thoughtfully designed for infants and toddlers to safely engage their senses. Featuring works by local and Asian artists, the exhibition encourages playful family discovery—children can dance with AI‑powered art, experience Braille‑inspired kindness gardens, and climb into magical dreamscapes made from recycled textiles.

Admission is free, and the event includes workshops, guided tours, and age‑customised art packs to inspire creativity across age groups, from babies to grandparents

From now until 31 August 2025, Sentosa transforms into a vibrant celebration of Peranakan heritage with Peranakan Reimagined. This immersive showcase offers families, especially those with young children, a delightful blend of art, culture, and hands-on activities.

At the heart of the experience is the Peranakan House at Lookout Loop — a towering, colourfully adorned shophouse that comes alive with a captivating light show every evening from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Nearby, the Field of Beaded Bloom at Tactile Trellis features oversized beaded slippers and batik-inspired murals, inviting little hands to touch and explore. Interactive installations like the Giant in Grace walkway and Sensoryscape gardens offer sensory-rich encounters with traditional Peranakan artefacts, textiles, and music.

Dress up in traditional Peranakan attire with kebaya and batik rentals available at the Sentosa Shop @ Sensoryscape, adding a fun cultural twist to your visit. The Peranakan Heritage Hands-on zone engages your little one in crafting art pieces inspired by Peranakan motifs, as well as explore fragrant spices in the scent-making corner — a hands-on history lesson through play.
